Governance of Change Courses
What is Governance of Change?
A critical question every organisation needs to consider is this: is there an effective structure of accountabilities and responsibilities around our investments in change initiatives? For example, is a Project Manager accountable for the project they're managing, or does accountability for a project rest at a level above the Project Manager? In many organisations the Project Manager is held to be accountable for the success of a project, and there is inadequate oversight and intervention by senior business managers. Another way of saying this is that good practice in corporate governance is not extended to governance of programmes and projects, which may represent a significant proportion of the organisation's discretionary investment budget.
Inspiring Projects has had deep exposure to current best practice in governance through the guidance provided by various elements of the Best Management Practice suite, including PRINCE2®, MSP®, MoP® and P3O®, as well as the recently released Better Business Cases guidance. Our Lead Trainer was a member of the Standards Australia Work Group that developed AS/NZS 8015 (now ISO 38500) Corporate Governance of ICT, on which AS/NZS 8016 Corporate Governance of IT-related Projects is heavily based. We have distilled this guidance into a series of executive briefings on aspects of governance.
We have developed a range of briefings and workshops ...
